£36 for a pair of kid's school shoes. FML... I don't even pay that for my own shoes!

That's crazy prices! We pay about £10 per pair for our kids over here.

I do get a pair of walking trainers each year which normally wear out after 9 or so months at £40 a pop mind you.

Criminal! But it's "Back to School" season, and all the cheap pencils in the world can't make up for the extortion that goes on in the Uniform department.
ASDAs usually cheapest for that, but even still.

Grrrr! Companies getting away with it.... GRRRRR!!

This school lark is extortionate all round. Just today we've started getting emails from the school again asking for donations for some shit or other, as well as asking us to pay for a school trip to Duxford war museum that we didn't even know about til today. It's relentless. It'll be harvest bloody festival soon as well so they'll be wanting us to empty out the cupboard of all its tins of food.

I mean FFS.... they don't even start back til next week!

But school uniform is a piss-take. She needs three pairs of shoes - "proper" school shoes that we bought today, plus two pairs of shoes for PE - one for indoor, one for outdoor. Then there's all the rest of school uniform to buy and it *has* to have the school logo on, which you can *only* buy from the school for whatever price they fancy charging.

FFS! So no cheap ASDA gear, then. That takes the piss.

Yeah, been there. Done that. Got the expensive t-shirt.

Schools really do take the piss. When my sone first started secondary school we had to get all of the above + tie + blazer. Then the next year the uniform changed... $$$

Thank fuck my kid has left school now. The school he was at insisted on "their own branding" of uniform, with a huge price to match, we lost count of how much we were paying with him outgrowing stuff with all the growth-spurts and all. These so-called academies really know how to rip-off people in order to make the big cheese his money, the Rolf Harris looking fuckface c**t!

Due to him doing animal care at Plumpton college this September, it seems like he has to wear some sort of uniform for that too, I'm pretty sure he can claim a bursary for that though.
