It's the "microfiber" cloth that puts the cost over the edge. Bloody expensive they are!

k... WTF is a clicker?

It's a clicker innit... It like, clicks and stuff... When you click one, you sort of thrust your arm forward a little... Doing that, with a serious face and wearing the glasses at the same time... You'll look brilliant and everyones jaw will drop in awe cos "Your the man!"

I mean, if thats not worth £2700, then what is?

How good is your PC Dabz? I've got the PSVR and whilst its good it could be so much better... better tracking and more content is needed.

Whereas on the PC, the Rift has super tracking, higher res and lots of contents (both on Oculus Store and Steam VR)... but the HMD isnt as comfy and the "god rays" are very outstanding on a black background.

It's the one in my sig Steve (Though I do have a SSD fitted now)!

So to be fair, in no sloth of a system, but alas, fails the compatibility test with the CPU and GPU.

The AMD Phenom x3 710 requires the AM3 socket, the recommended AMD CPU wants a AM4, so basically, so it's not just a case of swapping a couple of bits and bobs... The guts will have to go as well.

If I was going to go the rebuild route, I would have to set it up on the "recommended" spec list, towards the Intel and Nvidia side, so what will I be looking at:-

£400 for a motherboard and CPU bundle
£400 for a top Nvidia GPU, say the 1070
£130 for 16gig DDR4 memory
£100 for Windows (I know you can get a OEM from ebay for a tenner or something, but I've heard some dont activate, so thats a just in case)

So there we are, a grand for an "upgrade" to make it Oculus compatible.... But then, if I'm paying that, I may as well just buy new... At, a grand as well!

And thats before I buy an Oculus (+£500)!

PC VR is too expensive for me at the moment, to justify it I mean, I've never tried it before, I might even barf, so shelling out best part of £1500 isnt happening, my current PC isnt bad, it's never failed me yet, maybe if I had a shite system or bits were starting to go, then yeah, I'd shell out for another decent system quite happily that has the recommended specs for VR.

Whereas, if I would "Go Argos" say, I'm looking at £670 for the whole PS4 VR setup, everything in, and if I dont like it, it's not a bug bear, I'll lose a few quite moving it on, but, I imagine it'll take no shifting!

Thats my thoughts anyway!

If you already have a PS4 yeah the PSVR is the best for the price! It is awesome... does the kit come with the move controllers? I might complain about the tracking, but the move controllers are needed for VR!

Have you got a PS4Pro or just the PS4? The Pro apparently is a bit better for VR (I've got the Pro)...

Best PSVR games I've played:

* Until Dawn: Rush of Blood
* Dirt Rally
* Carnival Games VR
* Fruit Ninja VR
* Rogue One: X-Wing VR Mission
* Star Trek: Bridge Crew
* The Playroom VR (FREE!!!)

I've got Batman VR for the PC and its great but the main game is pretty short (less than an hour).

Its here!!! \o/

Honestly though, the cabling is up immense... I am somewhat bemused like, as you need about 300000 USB ports... The PS4 has 3!

Still, I'm all ready I think for the big switch on!

Dabz

P.s. Oh, Steve, its a normal PS4, but my brother has a pro so if it's a bit poppy in there... I'll swap him, but from what I've read, there isnt a major bit of difference between the two... I'll see how it rolls though!

Right, here is little review...

First off... it's a pretty little unit, very light on the nogging, managed to wear it all afternoon and no issues.

Setting it up requires a few cables, I have the move controllers but haven't used them yet... but all in, with them two, and the controller, there's some charging to do... and all of them have separate USB cables... my desk now looks like a rats nest, and behind it now looks like bob geldolfs hair do... you'd think they would've made a bit of effort trying to keep the cabling down, even if they supplied a plug, with two USB ports so you can charge 'em up in the wall... Small gripe.

Right, VR Worlds is pretty cool... the luge game is a bit pants, but I've enjoyed the others, I haven't stuck the demo disk in yet, that's for tomorrow, but, aye, nice little set of thingy me bobs there.

I've downloaded the playroom and had loads of fun with that, especially the little platformer game, being VR did make it a lot more enjoyable, and showcased it well!

Hardware wise, well, I can see where Steve is coming from, it is a touch blurry on occasions, and it would be nice if it was crispy... some games look fine and sharp enough, but, take the mech game, it's blur city... it doesn't take anything away from it, but, you can see the quality isnt there. Now, that could be due to the visuals themselves, low res textures etc, I dunno yet... but as it goes, you get what you pay for I suppose, but I find it okay.

Enjoyment wise, tons mind... I spent ages twatting my controller next to a ball and sending it flying, even had a good spell on the grab machine in Playroom VR!

I will get some good use out of this, no motion sickness or anything, so all is well, I might get Robinson: the journey, i think I'd like that, and apparently Skyrim is coming to VR so that will be grand!

Well... there we are... I wasn't sure what I'd make of VR, I probably seen it as a bit of a niche, in all honesty, I haven't played console games in years... But this has pricked my interest again, it's a really enjoyable experience and I think it'll have me hooked!

Oh, and it's only got 2 USB ports on the PS4, I thought there was one in the back, so I'll have to charge my controller and one motion controller, then charge the other later! :/

Anyway, I forgot to mention The London Heist in VR Worlds.... Short, but pretty damned good!

I normally charge my PS4 pad with a phone charger plugged into the mains as the socket is nearer to where I sit than the PS4 is. Even when its plugged into the PS4 all data is still sent by bluetooth anyway. Would imagine VR gear is the same.

London Heist is cool, they need to create a full game. Also the underwater dive was great when I let my MIL have a go, but I didn't tell her about the shark!

The PS4Pro has more USB ports... I've got a power board with 2 USB connections which are fine to charge the PS4 gamepad... But they don't charge the move controllers and seem to drain the battery instead?!?

Today, I bought myself Robinson: The Journey while on my way home, havent played it yet, think I'm going to keep that till Monday and Tuesday when I'm off work, give it a proper go... I mean, I am itching to stick it on, but I know for a fact that I'll still be up at stupid o'clock and be shattered tomorrow!

So, I'll be having a nosey at the VR Demo Disc, see what delights are on there!

I have also spied a must have game that's coming out, its a platformer affair and it's called Moss... And with stuff I've read it's absolutely amazing!

For the first time since I was, pffft, 25 or something... A game has come along that I want on my Christmas list... Probably have to buy it myself like, lol, but... Yeah... Mine mine mine mine mine!!!
