I love how there's suddenly a RUSH of people to their defence. Just make the battery easily changable FFS.

They claim it isn't to force people to upgrade... but anybody whose ever tried to get into an iPhone knows that they're done up like fucking Alcatraz. Changing the battery without destroying the phone is nigh on impossible without specific tools and the dexterity of a buddhist monk. So either way, needing a new phone is extremely likely.

That article is it one of the biggest piles of crap that anyone could ever make sense of, it's to force their sheep to move to another field plain and fucking simple.

Just remember to clear out your photos every so often.
Activate the phone, then plug it into Windows, and it'll allow you to access the photos from the drive.
Cut+Paste all your photos so they're no longer on the iPhing, and you'll find the device speeds up back to where it should be.

Also, if you've got the Podcast app, and have a few subscriptions, open up the phone in iTunes (I know...!) and try your best to delete all the old podcasts that it inexplicably seems to leave behind.

My ipad mini 1 has really gotten slow also. I think it is 4 years old now.

My stephfather tried to open up a iphone4 once when he had taken his pain medication and he broke it. It is not easy.

Probably mounting evidence from tools available in the app store that could measure cpu speed, etc. I guess it forced their hand.

What's the betting that the iPhone 11 will have a "new, REVOLUTIONARY...." easily replacable battery.

Nahh, probably not.
