Going to test some different web browsers today. Chrome has decided than I am not allowed to download a file I created in 2009 simple because it doesn't know that it isn't a virus. And as of recent updates, there seems to be no way around it without disabling ALL of the security options.

Nope, this is a chrome issue. It downloads the file 'scans' it then deletes it. There used to be a 'give me my file back I dont care' link in chromes download list, but they removed it. The best bit is that according to google searches, it hasn't decided that the file is a virus, but rather that it's not not a virus. It assumes because it doesn't know of the file than I just can't have it. Can't you just disable that nonsense in Chrome? Looks like it's called "Protect you and your device from dangerous sites" (Settings>>Advanced) now. Though in older versions it was called "protect from phishing/malware" or something. That aside... it won't download at all here. We had a power cut for about four hours this morning and internet access has been total dog filth ever since. Or it could be that site. Either way, it won't download for me. |

It seems any other browser will do the trick. I'm giving opera neon a try, it's...different.
