My problem with "Raspberry Pi as main computer" is that, well, they're limited to linux, which I can never be bothered to learn to use and they're s-l-o-w. Sure, they're cheap, but I'd rather spend a little money and get something that my old mac mini 2011 doesn't wipe the floor with.

I think it depend on use-case.
Trying to use this as your daily-driver, excpecting the work of variety of a "normal" pc. That's probably not going to work out too well.

On the other hand.. if this had, say, a version of SmileBASIC on it, then you'd have a retro computer you could plug into your telly and code on.
That's pretty much the dream, right?

I'm very impressed by the low power usage of these Raspberry PIs.

So long as it can do basic computing, handle audio, and a bit or other stuff then, yeah I can see it being a secondary driver.
