What an odd one!
I'm not sure I can think of any, off the top of my head. Nothing that I'd rather "didn't" exist.
I mean, maybe those god-awful 50p LCD games that my Nan was obsessed with buying us every Xmas!! But I wouldn't like them never to have existed. They helped pave the way, built a market, and some of them weren't utter garbage

.. Couldn't decide which.
As to why it captures the essence of the game...
Manic Miner - It's warped and crazy and obscure, perfectly capturing the spirit of the game.
Sonic 2 - Checkerboard pattern ftw!!

Side panel based jackets that need to be screwed off and on, and a slot loading drive at the front for your bits.

C64 "In the Beginning", My grandad got my it when he was on holiday one year. Nobody ever heard of it, it took years (literally) to find any trace of it online.

Terrible game, very slow to load, seemingly no compression on the file, it was coded in BASIC so it didn't run very fast either.
