Monkey-X

19th December 2013

I think it's meant to be Monkey Cross rather than Monkey Ecks, in reference to the cross-platform compiling.

Store Closing

10th December 2013

I used to make the store closing announcements, but I never recorded myself!

Rockwell's Missing Images

9th December 2013

I sees 'em all at home, through my phone, on Chrome (not Chrome on the phone, but desktop Chrome with a phone tether connection)

Oh My Goat

8th December 2013

I couldn't tell WTF Oh My Goat was - not a single screenshot of the six he's provided are an actual screen shot.

Carmack Leaves ID

22nd November 2013

Didn't he say that he was planning on leaving when he did that conference about iD tech 5 the other year (when RAGE launched)?

RIP : Winamp

20th November 2013

Why not? It all went downhill at version bloody TWO. Far better players out there with no bloaty-bloat.

FFS, More SpikeDislike?!

rofl!

FFS, More SpikeDislike?!

18th November 2013

The new mode, for me anyway, doesn't parallax scroll, the background strips overlap the foreground, and it runs rather slowly. Chrome, Win7.

Sony's Blue Light Issue

17th November 2013

There's gonna be a lot of pissed off parents when the box they just shelled out 400 quid for doesn't bloody work.

Who Hype

16th November 2013

So, is that an exclusive CIN scene, or just an exclusive CIN preview?

Lost games of the past decade

13th November 2013

OMG! I just found it!
It's bundled up with some other stuff, but...
joelesko.com
Was called "Speed Thrasher", apparently.

Lost games of the past decade

13th November 2013

Well, just the one really.
Does anyone remember a game from waaaaay back on the Blitz showcase with a car and a guy on a (surf?)board tethered to the car. IIRC you controlled the car and you tried to get the guy swinging just right to grind and jump off o*snip*

Making Monkey Do

13th November 2013

The BRL documentation is easy to follow, it's just easy to miss.
The target setup is mentioned in passing like everybody already knew that, rather than with a bold heading saying "You Need To Do This First" as it should be.

Exam pop quiz

13th November 2013

How I win at multiple choice quiz:
1) There's always one answer that's complete bollocks. discount that.
2) If there's two answers that are only slightly different it's one of them, ignore the rest.
3)If there's an "all of the above", it's the correct a*snip*

Gotta Catch EVERY SINGLE ONE OF THEM

10th November 2013

They may be up to 718 in the Pokemon universe, but any particular game hasn't had more than 250 that I'm aware of.
Also, you can never catch 'em all, unless you're both OC and lucky as hell. Every game has at least one Pokemon that has to be unlocked by N*snip*

Scary shutdowns!

9th November 2013

I've only had one machine that overheated, and it would reboot every time it started overheating. If you deigned to keep running it, it would eventually freeze up, but I generally took the reboot as a sign it was time to stop.

Who Hype

9th November 2013

That wasn't magic, it was a precise network of telepathic satellites...and magic.

Rome II Total War's DLC

8th November 2013

Honestly, I find the ''need'' to include gore at all in a strategy game rather off-putting.

OuyaSpam

7th November 2013

New rules (again), eh?
Well, that explains why the Blockman Gets Hungry topic that popped up the other day disappeared again.

Abysmal "Next Gen"?

5th November 2013

...not sure what you expect to see different on PS4 vs PS3 aside from better lighting/framerate anyway. :P

Sheep Goes Right - DevDiary

3rd November 2013

First few levels were too same-y, and there never seemed to be a reason to jump, but otherwise I liked it.

Scary shutdowns!

2nd November 2013

It's possible for the CPU fan to wear out, but if it was running sometimes and not others I can only think "bad bearing" - and if that were the case you'd certainly hear it.
I've also heard of the heat sink becoming un-attached because the old thermal pas*snip*

How unexpected!

Can the Monkey OUYA?

2nd November 2013

The Amazing Frog?
Lots of people seem to like it, and it's fairly constantly updated with new stuffs.
I haven't downloaded it, myself, as tossing a ragdoll around a virtual environment has never been entertainment to me.
