No limewire here...

...because torrents are better! For legal downloads, of course.

My desktop is nothing fancy, but back when I worked at the company's head office I messed with my coworkers on a regular basis by taking a screenshot of their desktop and set that image as their desktop background, and then I made their desktop icons hidden.

Always good to see the frustratad look in faces when their desktop "stopped responding"...

Cheers

I like this picture, Tikihead.
But its really cold brrrrrrrr!!! freezin n sneezin.

y know I thought you would have a desktop
picture of a warm/hot South Seas Island or even
Voodoo Island and with some natives
dancing around the Big Tiki idol.

a little off I am...I don't know about the islanders customs and practices but in war dances and party dancing in the Cherokee tribes, never dance to the right. Always, dance going to the left. If you go to the right, you dishonor the tribe and the local chieftain.
Seriously.

Actually I just changed my desktop. It's pretty cool now.

Although at first I though it would just look cool, it actually is really handy for organizing my desktop. I'm going to buy the full version of this (more functionality). The program is called Real Desktop if anyones is interested.

|edit| Note from Jay : For "thumb" to work, you need to have a seperate desktop2_thumb.png image. Then it loads the little one as the thumb, and the big as the proper. Otherwise, just use imgs to show the image small. |edit|

I guess I win:

I reinstalled Windows yesterday, so it's all clean. However, now that I've got my Internet connection working it'll take mere minutes until it's bloated again.

wow, you did win.
Congratulations on a fine purchase of real estate.

Soon, dairy farms and cows will populate.
Supplying beautiful bounties of all kinds of food
grains, milk, and methane gases from the cows.
Soon, you'll opt out and sell the land for big shopping malls, luxiourious hotels and even townhouses.

hmmmmmmm......
interactive wallpapers for your desktop
and screen-saver type of programs for backgrounds.
That simulate the purchase and development of the cetain pieces of land and historical simulations of the land by developing into various ecomonical-political-social-religious communities.
What icons you place, and how and where you place them on the desktop.

Let me...or all of us...work on this.

thanks Jay.
Seriously, and True for the complement.

Yeah, I had the same idea.
And quote the mousey:
(on the back of the cd wrapper/box)..."Stimulating Simulations and interactiveness of wallpapers and backgrounds of your desktops. Things that not only
move around, but grow and evolve as you use and interact with your desktop"

is it just me or are some of the pictures a bit screwed up whe using a mac. by that i mean they get stretched length wise before you resize them . they don't seem to do that when i use firefox on windows, just safari on the mac i use.

Then the solution is simple, don't use a Mac. Sorted.

IE does that, too, so I might need to tweak the sourcecode to recognise Safari, and send it different params..

I'm currently busy playing with yet another little project... I'll get round to it eventually

Looks to me like you're only scaling it by width alone. I seem to remember having problems years ago where it worked perfectly alright in one browser and maintained the aspect ration but in another needed both width and height specified.

I'm probably complete wrong in this instance but thought I'd mention it anyway

Most decent browsers support the "Height : Auto" parameter.. IE's stupid, so it doesn't.
Apparently, Safari's as stupid as IE.

Solution, use a decent browser

But like I said, I've already botched a fix together for IE, so.. Wait till I bother to tweak it, and then it should work for Safari, too.

its not all the pictures, most of the first page resizes them just grand. i would use another browser but i don't have admin access to the macs in the collage.

as for ie, you must mean 6 as i just tested it on 7 and they all seem grand to me .
