My HTC Wildfire has a 500mhz processor and it shitslow at doing anything vaguely useful. 800 + GPU would probably be quite a bit better, but, honestly, if I were to properly aim for an Android system, I'd want at least 1.5Ghz, 'cos this is really mindbogglingly shit!

Bought it now It was the best (according to reviews) in my price range that the store had.
It seems ok so far, haven't tried any games on it yet though.

Prepare for the disappointment all Android users experience.

I use my dad's Galaxy S when he's not looking. I like it quite a bit.
At least it has extendable memory

What put you off the idea of buying an iPhone? or a Windows 7 Phone? I would have recommended both of those over Android.

I'd imagine it's that whole "Cashstrapped Dev" thing.
As silly as it is to carry around 2 devices, it's a bucketload cheaper for me to carry around an iPod Touch, and my cheap-ass shitty Android device, than it is an iPhone.
The iPhone pretty much needs the contract, or at the very least £10 a month on PAYG (I'd recommend Vodaphone's current Freebies thing)

As it is, I've put £20 on my Android phone in the last 6 months, and it still has £10.75 credit left on it.
Cheapshit Phone, Cheapshit cost, job done.
And the iPod Touch does everything I'd need.

But a decent Android phone isn't actually that cheap.

I prefer pre-pay phones as I don't actually phone people much, so it's way cheaper for me. a pre-pay iPhone would be more than £500 and I wasn't going to pay that when I already have an iPod touch.

That's kinda the point DD.
The android phone is "decent enough" even if it is a bag of crap.
It does the whole texts/phonecalls thing, and .. well.. that's it, to be honest.
If I ever DO get around to Android Dev, then I have a shitty phone to test it on, and if a game works on THAT, then I'm pretty sure it'll work on others.

That was my reason for getting one, anyway!

Other than that, I use the iPod.
I'm either at home, at work, or.. god forbid, if I'm nowhere near Wifi, I can turn on my Android's Wifi Access Point, and use that, meaning I get to A) Use a nice fast iPhing to go online with, and B) don't have to actually use the shitty Android to do it!

Best of both worlds, imo!

... well, no, the BEST of both worlds would be me having a crapload of cash, buying iPhones with contracts for all the family, and never worrying about all that crappy contract bullshit again.
