I saw this on digg and thought it was very interesting so i thought you might want to see it. weather there are any uses for it i dont know, but still, its interesting to think about.

Fascinating! %<)

when I saw the words laser jet in the link.
I thought and imagine first Wonder Womans jet
plane. And further, streams of photon pressured
into a jet plane configuration utilizing gravitional
waves on the superstrings.
And holographic jet planes.....where the plane is scanned
and beamed out in a temporary locale and interface with the pilots mind.

Interesting website and link.
I also like that Orion telescope too.
and shades of Satr Trek and Doctor McCoy:
where IPods are used by doctors to recognize heart problems.

Wow - that is pretty cool. Could have many uses in the future...

People have known for years that light applies pressure. There are ideas and about building Solar Sails. I remember seeing on TV a super powerful UV light which was able to push an extremely thin sheet of metal, proving it applies pressure.

Doing it on such a tiny level though, that is interesting.

I wonder whatever happened to that project
at Stanford University many, many years ago.
Where scientists created a device and was the size of
a refirigerator. A tiny piece of quartz crystal was place into the device. And, within the molecular organization of quartz the scientists could write/read almost unlimited data into it. It used 2 lasers...where data was written
and read and at different frequencies with the particular
quartz reasonance.

here is some links that I found concerning Stanford
using Quartz or related to Quartz:

Neither of those links has anything about magic fridges :/

Hey, didn't I see that on SG1?

An 'advanced' civilization painstakingly recorded all their history on thousands of crystal discs, each one holding only a small amount of data (like 5 3/4 floppies).
Then they were under attack, or there were earthquakes or something that threatened to distroy the library where the only copies of these discs were held.
Eventually Carter saved the day by modifying a magic fridge with lasers to encode the sum of all human knowledge on a single perfect super crystal (like a Holographic CD)

Thinking about it, it ws quite possibly another SciFi type TV series (I've forgotten which).

yeah,

I think that I saw that episode on Stargate.
By the way, I'm wondering when another Stargate
movie is going to come out.
And having to do with the Return of the Nephilim.
Call it Stargate: Return of the Watchers.
Lam, Ox-Ho, ascended space masters, and so called
space brothers set up the Earths populace to
rebuild ancient Babylon...cause the center nexus
of civilization is there. And where mankind fell from
grace and in rebellion against God. And demonic entities
under the guise of these aliens and the so called gods and goddeses of ancient civilizations are trying to
enter the portal to do more genetic hybrid experiments
to change themselves and mankind. And into their
own image and foil Bible prophecy. Have their own
type of demonic matter reconstruction and resurrection.

Now, about this device. I remember reading about it.
It was almost 10 years ago or so...
Damn!! I can't find it and I don't want to
sift thru 17,300 liks and articles!

here is a narrowed search listing
for anybody who is interested:

scholar.google.com/scholar?q=limitless+memory+storage+in+quartz&hl=en&ie=UTF-8&um=1&oi=scholart

the truth is out there.
yes, the device is out there.
probably hush, hush and top secret now.

I remember that solar sail, they showed us a video with that in it in school. Really its a pretty good idea, and as i recall Bill Nye the Science Guy was a major part of it.

yeah!

that Solar sail too.
And Bill Nye the Science Guy....
I remember him too.

thanks magicman,
for giving me the magic
to remember.
