Late to the PC Game, my first personal version of Win was '98.
I stuck with Win2000 for an alarming amount of time, and only bothered to upgrade once XP's many many early issues had subsided.
Other than that, I've tried to stay fairly up to date with recent releases, mostly to ensure everything's still working the way it oughta.

So far, so good!
Although, I did today notice that the audio on the original NeonPlat Adventures is doing something a bit quirky. Not sure what that's about.

I spent nearly £1500 on my first (Win95) pc. It was a beauty. Bought it from Special Reserve. Anybody remember them?

I remember their ads, very tempting stuff in those.. If I had ANY money as a kid, that'd probably be one of the great money-drains!!

Our first PC was a P150 (150Mhz) 8MB... which I overclocked to to 166Mhz using the motherboard's dip switches!

Coming from the Amiga, PC gaming was strange... setting up the sound card/graphics etc - wtf!?!

The PC had Windows 95, but lots of games still required to boot into DOS to run. Strange times!

I missed the start of Windows, in '95 I was in ravey ravey jumping about like a loon mode, being 17 and that... All pubs and clubs.

My brother bought a PC with Windows 98 on, I remember it used to churn like a good'un when you were using it, that tickled my interest in home computing again, and programming.

It wasnt until XP when I got my first machine, a Tiny laptop, I loved it even though it was just a box of shite!

When that died (Didnt take long being a Tiny machine), I built my first ever windows box, managed to transfer the XP license from the Tiny paptop, and it was a joy to use.

And, I've never looked back... I mean, I've never done anything remarkable with a PC, built a few things, but, it's give me hours of fun over the years.

So, hats off to Windows 98... It probably has saved my liver!
