The 'Your Name' topic..

4th January 2008

Oh, Googling your own name, I forgot about that part... I would appear to be the younger brother of Jemima Khan and thoroughly well connected financially and rather good looking in a young, early fame period Hugh Grant type way.
Lucky bastard! :D

Google Forklift Fred and you'll find me at the top!
Rather bazaar considering there is a forkliftfred.com and a whole forklift company that uses the name!

The official 'OMG! WTF!? Snow!!' thread

3rd January 2008

We've had it cold here but no snow. You don't need snow to be cold.
In fact you don't tend to get snow if it's too cold...
I want snow, and I want it settled when I wake up!
Oh well, I can dream...

I must admit, the financial side of things completely passed me by but all the forum coding and tweaks and weekly workshops.
All hail to the father of SoCoder.
Oh and he seems to be a reasonably nice guy too.
It's quite sickening! :p :D
Many thanks and*snip*

Tetris

1st January 2008

OK... I took a look and there are several issues to address. First of all, you should only use Cls and Flip once every cycle so I would suggest removing all the ones within functions and put Cls at the start of your "While Not KeyHit(1)" loop and Flip at t*snip*

Very true. It's more complicated than you might first think but it's as good a place to start as any, just to see how things go together. Anyone starting out shouldn't expect their first project to amount to a great deal. If you are simply running through *snip*

Screen Resolutions?

29th December 2007

Well, as I said, I use it and for my sanity I just measured a few squares on my screen and they all measured up perfectly...
The problem, if there is one, is down to the coder's implementation of scaling which isn't really an issue when it comes to 3D as *snip*

How to get back into game programming?

27th December 2007

Wednesday Workshops did the trick for me I think.

WM003 - Christmas (Already!)

21st December 2007

I've been sick all week so I can't see mine being anywhere near ready before I go away on Sunday.

RotateZoomer?

21st December 2007

First of all, you need to change your If...Then section. Either use a second variable set before the loop:

If SHIFT>20 Then DIR=-DISTANCE
If SHIFT<0 Then DIR=+DISTANCE
...

or simply combine t*snip*

Age old Collision problems!
