I just want to download the thing...

Bah.. stupid driversguide.com

Why is it, nowadays, whenever you need a driver for something, you have to jump over a thousand barrels, sneak through hundreds of "Warez-esque" sites, and inevitably end up back at Driversguide.com, where they shove thousands of ads in your face, and make you register to download a file that should otherwise be really easy to download.

*sigh*

So, today I got a scanner handed to me. A nice little UMAX Astra 3450. The Driver disk (CD) is about 70 years old, and crashes in XP, so I went a-looking on their site, and they said I had to buy the thing..
!
It's a free scanner, no way am I paying for a driver for it!!

I eventually started the EXE supplied in the driver download, which crashed in exactly the same place as the cd version.

*sigh*

I guess then, that I'm stuck with the default Windows driver, so I can scan, but the handy little buttons on the front of the scanner have no purpose.
Aw well.

It still scans, I suppose.
