I love a bit of Star Trek, but fuck me, The Motion Picture goes on a bit. Slower than a weekend in Bognor.

I've driven through Bognor loads of times, never had the desire to spend the weekend there though. Maybe they have a cinema in the holliday park, maybe they show Star Trek!

Yeah, they were aiming for something a bit 2001, with big lengthy "Filmic" space shots and whatnot.
Doesn't really work, IMO.

Voyage Home and First Contact are my faves, and yet neither of those are very "Star Trek" in their plots.. One's a vague Comedy, the other's an attempt at Horror.
Yet.. .. they seem to work best!!

I love The Voyage Home - Scotty trying to talk to the computer seemed amazing when I first saw it, but now... we have that tech! Though Siri and Cortana still have a way to go.

But my fav Star Trek is easily Undiscovered Country. Not sure I've seen anything after Generations, though, I saw a bit of one with Borg in it. It wasn't the same without Kirk.

Voyage Home is my fave ST movie too.

The Motion Picture, Yeah, duller than ditchwater.

Regional, apparently.
"Dull as Dishwater" here!

This is why I mentioned Bognor. Nobody argues with Bognor.

I like ST:TMP over-all, despite it being an overblown version of the episode "The Changeling", but... that V-Ger fly-up scene... I've never made it through without falling asleep!
