GfK If they find out you can fill forms in by yourself - even if it looks like a chimp wrote it - they'll have you working at the fecking job centre.

A chimp could probably do a lot better than the twats that already work there.

Response from Tribunals. (Already!)
The case has been opened and a letter has been sent to DWP about my case. They're now waiting to hear back from them... That'll probably take about 12 months

So, the government have screwed over even more people that can ill afford it as it is, with regard to the benefits system.

I hope that nobody here will be affected.

Ugh..
ESA now want to do a Health Examination Bollocks test thing, so that probably means my ESA's going to be snatched from me, too.
Oh, joy!!

Meanwhile, the PIP and Tribunal people have been back and forth'ing, and we've been sent everything the PIP people have on me. A huge 100-or-so page pile of photocopies ranging from the forms we've filled in, to the forms the assessors have filled, and more. It's quite a read!

Still no date for the actual tribunal, yet, but hopefully it shouldn't be too long.

For those keeping track, today's mail included a letter from the Tribunal people to say that they, too, had received the large wad of photocopies from the PIP people.

Still no date.. :\

I'll not be surprised if the tribunal people will be snowed under with wads and wads of paperwork... Bet they're sitting there dreading watching the postie walk through the door!

Went to see Welfare Rights today.
The nice lady is going to be there at the tribunal, trying to fight my case.
We sat and chatted for about an hour, her going through the "points" system. And me explaining my situation.
She understood most of what I was saying, and was able to figure out not only my side, but exactly why the PIP assessment had "failed".
Going through points like "yes, I can cook a pot noodle",and that being seated on the couch isn't a good assessment of my situation.

All sounds good...
But there's still the big tribunal to come, and that'll certainly be a fight.

The more people you have on your side, the better.

Definitely fight for your rights and what is due to you. Don't let the bastards grind you down.

Making a pot noodle being classed as cooking, why ya nar... If that was the case right, imagine going for a job as a chef and in the interview they asked what you can cook... They'd think your an absolute mental if you turned around and said "A cup of coffee"! :/

There's literally no rational... Whoever makes this bollocks up probably has never "cooked" a pot noodle in their life, they probably think it's some thai dish or something.

And the sitting on the couch thing, I mean, like, how? how is sitting on a couch relevant in the grand scheme of things, sitting on a couch is just, well, I dunno, a thing every person and their dog/cat/parrot does just like, naturally, how can they even deem that as a "thing"... It's like going to bed ffs or going for a shit!

If I ever... And I mean EVER meet anyone who works on these things, I'll be saying "Stop... Just stop right there for a second!", I'll unzip the auld todger and piss all over their shoes!

I read some news yesterday (google news) that even when you are 98% blind you can work in england. Also when you are paralised on one side of your body you are fit to go out and find a job. As long as you can walk/move 150 steps without help ect.

Thing is though. There need to be people who hire people. Yesterday I also listened to a radio show where one guy talked about him being on welfare for 30 years(netherlands) I saw another man from holland a few years ago on a talk show who also was in welfare for 30 years.

Luckely, if you really need to go and find a job there wil then always be a financial safety net during that time. Here the financial difference between disabled income and welfare is zero.

One good thing potentially coming is that base income thing. I have been seeing more about that in the last years. With robotisation it is bound to get more attention.

The last 12 months in my country a 100.000 jobs have been created. That cut the unenployement rate by 1/6th. Laws have also been created to force every company to hire a percentage of disabled people or be fined.

For myself. I have not heard anything yet on my situation. Close to 20 years now in disabilty. I might just be able to get along for the next 30 years until retirement age.

I understand the reasoning behind forcing employers to employ x% disabled/minority/opposite sex etc. workers (and please don't turn this thread into one about work equality). But surely being forced to have say 5% disabled workers, they take jobs away from people who are better able to do those jobs. You'd be giving preference to people who in a lot of cases won't be able to do the job to the same standard.

Back on topic though, I hope it goes well Jay.

ESA Assessment from last week.. Result is in. They say I'm completely unfit and incapable of doing jack shit.
Huzzah!

At the very least, I can continue to just about coast on with my finances, if the PIP doesn't go through.

Now just the biggy to fight for.

That's great news (well, it's not great that you can't do jack shit, but it's great that they accept your claim completely).

As you now have that report/assessment, getting you PIP back should be a piece of piss. You've as good as already won and they will have to back-date your claim too, so drinks on you!!
