Looks like Sonic Team have once again handed the reigns to Taxman (Christian Whitehead) and he's working with a team to make a whole new Sonic game!

Woot!!

I remember it took me ages to work out how to do the platform detection... and it still wasnt perfect.

And I never did around to doing the loops!

Spin dash is in though

Yup, a little tetchy, and sent me off into the mysterious depths beneath the landscape

But 100* better than I could've done, so bravo!!

Just think, if you'd've finished it off, you might've been in Taxman's shoes right now!!!

?Is it good? How is the game on the Switch (with the split/non-existant d-pad)?

A) so far, no complaints, but haven't continued beyond last night's Game Over. That's only Zone 2, btw.
It's obviously designed for oldskool players, used to these games, with the difficulty feeling like it's been ramped up to accommodate such players. Either that or I'm getting old

B) I've not had a problem with the split dpad, at all. It's still four buttons facing in the four directions.
I'm not the best person to ask, since I have no issues to begin with.

I've actually got five games for my Switch - Zelda, Puyo Puyo Tetris, Ironcast, Puzzle Adventure Blockle and SnakePass, but do you think I can tell you how the D-Pad is? Nope! I've only ever played Zelda! And the D-Pad is hardly used (but I have had no issues either).

I just wondered as Sonic does require very fast movements of the D-Pad.

Yeah, but it's Sonic though! You only ever use Left and Right.. (Although if those damn barrels turn up, I guess I'll be using Up and Down, there..)

It's barely a "thing" to me. I've not yet found a point where I've gone "Boy, I wish this were a proper DPad"
I don't get what all the fuss is about.

... Worked fine on the PS1.
