Netflix Recommendations

Good film!
Slight lull about 3/4 way through, but otherwise a nice high-paced "the aliens are attacking!" movie.
Reminded me of the Tom Cruise War of The Worlds, with the none-stop action.

I had seen this movie on a premiere channel(film1) not long after it came out. It was enjoyable. I liked the special effects at the ending.

Maggie(title) is out now on netflix. Daughter gets bitten by zombie and father(arnold swarzenegger) tries to take care of her until the end. It is a low budget flick which t2 wanted to play in because of the higly rated scenario.

Currently enjoying a Korean Series called "Tomorrow With You".
Time traveller gets wrapped up in a pre-destined romance!
I'm up to episode 9, and it's been full of timey-wimey twists and turns!

Just found a great series of Movie Documentaries, with a DVD extras vibe going on.
"The Movies that Made Us". Hourlong documentaries about Dirty Dancing, Home Alone, Ghostbusters and Die Hard.

Good stuff!!

"You" is a drama about a serial killer that keeps subverting expectations and got me and my partner hooked enough to binge season 2 in two days

Currently watching Signal, a Korean Police drama thing.
Same guy from Tomorrow With You, and more time-wimey stuff!!
This time, he finds a walkie talkie that inexplicably lets him talk to a police detective from the 80's.
He has to use his powers of chattering with the past, to help solve crimes in the future!!

Like frequency?

I was going to say exactly the same. The film (with Dennis Quaid) was good and so was the series.

Only 16 episodes, and yet it's taken a month and a half to reach the end. I don't tv much!!

Ending was a bit of a letdown, if I'm honest.

> Reveal 🔎

Other than the pap ending, it was a fun ride.

5 episodes into another Korean Drama. Netflix is recommending tons of these to me, now, and I'm enjoying the ride.

Currently watching "Hi, Bye, Mama", a show about a pregnant woman hit by a car, who loses her life, and has to watch as a ghost, as her widowed husband brings up the baby.

I watched "The Meg" yesterday after it got on netflix. Starring Jason Stratham. It is the movie with the prehistoric sharks which hid in the deepest part of the sea. Not the next Jaws, but it was ok.

There is another movie called "Da 5 bloods" by spike lee. But I only watched a part of it so far. Apparently it rewrote movie history

Watched "The Tunnel", another single-season Korean Time Travel show. Boy, the Koreans sure do love their Time Travel plot lines!!!
This one's essentially Life On Mars, but backwards. Copper gets hit over the head and winds up 30 years in the future. (1987 to 2017)
Basically the same fish out of water storyline, but in reverse, with the main character having to get to grips with future technology, and such.
Fun!

I watched a part of a german series about romans and germanic barbarians. It is with english language for the germanics and latin spoken for the romans. It is about the time period when the germanic tribes kicked out the romans from their lands. 6 episodes. It is quite brute at times and has quite a good quality. It is called 'barbaren' not sure if the title is different in other countries.

Currently watching "Alice" on Netflix. Yet another Korean drama about Time Travel..
What is it with all the Korean stuff being timey-wimey, but barely any of our tv??

Just watched episode 4 and it's been quite fun so far.
Woman travels into the past, but can't return to the future once she finds out she's pregnant, so stays. Child grows up, mother gets murdered, child becomes detective, detective solves crimes, strange things start to happen.

Mmmm.. timey-wimey!!

I discovered that Amazon Prime Video can now be payed with local online banking. This was not possible the last time I checked. The new smart tv I bought last year has a build in Prime App.
We are going through the catalog watching everything that looks interesting. No idea how much they have. Last night I had that "Alita - Battle Angel" on. The reason I looked at getting Prime "Coming 2 America" was the first thing we watched. It was not as good as the original but it was not a total let down.

Second recommendation for Alice.
Lots of time-logic stuff, and so far it's not cheated in any major way.

Well, except maybe the sheer logic of how the time jumps happen, but .. what can you do, time travel, innit!! Has to happen in one way or another.

...also, I definitely wasn't tearing up during the birthday scene.

Have to say, I love Amazon Prime more than Netflix. It's like going into the video shops of old and hiring a load of 10p titles because you didn't have lots of cash for the blockbusters. There's some real gems in there - and there's shitloads of them! Brilliant!

As for Netflix, loved Queen's Gambit which is about the only thing I've watched on there recently!

Salvation
Premise : A meteor is discovered, hurtling towards earth, and a college teen and mega corporate Elon-Muskalike CEO are the only two who can stop it.

Reality : By midway through the first season it becomes painfully obvious that the impending meteor isn't going to be the focus of this show.
The season ending gets a bit more drastic, but then peters out within about 2 minutes of the season 2 opener, at which point the whole political bullshit takes center stage, and .. fuck it.. nah..
I gave up 3 episodes into season 2.

Not on Netflix but on Prime :

"valley of the sasquatch"

Pretty descent oldskool B Movie. Half of the movie is dark(night/forrest/cabin). It reminded me a bit of "Evil dead"

I've never been a movie fan, yet somehow these are all movies I've seen. They must've nabbed some of that brain fluid the hospital was taking!!
