Question of the Day : July 11th

Which retro game had the best soundtrack in your opinion?
Thu, 11 Jul 2024, 02:05
Jayenkai
Oooh.. A complete soundtrack? Probably Frontier : Elite II.

As much as I love (LOVE!) the Deflektor theme, that's only one single track. Frontier had a whole bunch of classical music with a couple of new ones thrown in.

Question of the Day : July 14th

Which retro artist or musician influenced your creative style the most?
Sun, 14 Jul 2024, 03:40
Jayenkai
The Amstrad CPC as a whole has inspired pretty much everything I do.
The colour palette I tend to use is (albeit shuffled) more or less directly lifted from the CPC.
Platdude is a tweaked Chr$(249)
And all my music is meant for people with "Sound" trained ears.

A Game can be called "A Project". Have you ever written a game or a tool which you play or use often ?

Which retro tech device do you think would make the best addition to a modern smart home and why?
Tue, 16 Jul 2024, 03:15

One of those cheap 80s Casio watches, with a giant magnifier screen added to it, so you can read it from around the room.

Good Grief, they still make them!

Every time I need one, because I can't for the life of me remember how I got it working last time I did it.

The biggest project I didn't do is probably that JNKPlat/HERO mashup thing that I planned on, about a decade ago, but never really ever got 'round to doing.

Some day..!

A remake/conversion of an Amiga game called "Swibble Dibble".

Got the levels converted and sprites ... started writing the code then stopped.

walking and jumping worked, but there were small bugs ... if i remember right.

Now i'm waiting for the inspiration to continue.

3" Floppy Medallion (I tried to get Bing/DallE3 to draw this, but it couldn't cope with the concept of a floppy disk being the wrong size)

How has retro technology shaped your career or personal life?
Sat, 20 Jul 2024, 07:48

It shaped my life and hobbies while it was quite new. 'retro' technology hasn't really done anything. Although 1920s style kitchen appliances looks cool
