Lazy Browse

Too lazy to open up Firefox and go to SoCoder?

LazyBrowse.rar
It's here, the second program in the Lazy series

This program is actually quite stupid, I mostly did it for fun. All it does is to create a little icon in the system tray where you can see the latest forum posts and showcases, by right-clicking it, and there's also a mini-showcase viewer in there

It makes use of the RSS feeds that Jayenkai has provided us with, and I decided to only pick the forum and showcase sections to save the bandwidth just a little.

Jay, in case this program causes you any problems, I've added a kill switch. All you have to do is to upload a file called DisableLazyBrowse.txt to the public_html directory and the program won't connect to the site.

There might be some bugs, it isn't completely tested. For example, don't try to click any links inside the showcase preview.

Note! This program requires the .NET framework. If you don't have it, it can be downloaded here.

I don't think it should cause any issues, I mean.. If it's just grabbing the rss feeds... Who knows.

The obvious question would be, why use a proggy to do it, when the Ajaxified page does all the work for you?

nice!
Perhaps a little overkill; I would have tried finding a more compact and efficient way to do it like jay said but it's all good.

Well, yes, if you really want it, I can give it to you. However I haven't commented it so I'm not sure if it's very understandable. But give me your email address and I'll send it to you.

|edit| By the way, is it impossible to change the email address in your profile, Jay? |edit|

Email to Jayenkai@Gmail.com, and let me know what you want it changed to..

Of course, I will be checking to make sure it's valid, but in your case the change is well overdue
