Treasure trove of Retro Gamer mags.

Look at what this lucky bugger got his hands on today, it's puzzling what some people give away on freebie sites. Issues 131 - to 172 and issue 174. Fucknose what happened to issue 173 but who gives a hoot?, it's still a good bag of SWAG!

This will be good for seeding ideas for retro-esque gamedev projects.

I've got every issue. Most are indeed full of the good stuff, although there are issues that are full of the brown stuff - and I don't mean C64 games...

I've got every issue from issue #2, up to whatever issue it was in March 2012.
Then I no longer worked in the shop that I would get each issue home from.

I only kept one of the ones I was mentioned in, lost the other one. I stopped getting them when they changed to the new format anyway.

Check out my excellent homepage!

It was available in ASDA, more specifically in Hollingbury, Brighton, seems to have ceased to exist there now. I think the most sure way of getting it would be through a subscription.

Subscribe, or ask your local newsagent, who'll be happy to help, and glad that someone's walked into the shop for something other than some sweeties!

Local newsagent... I don't even know where that is. Certainly not within five or six miles. The nearest "convenience store" is the thick end of two miles and they don't sell magazines or newspapers or anything.

May have a look at the online subscription thingy....

|edit| Quick Q after noticing it's run by Future Publishing, same as Games TM. I cancelled my sub to that (years ago) because I got sick of paying for a magazine that had a large percentage of ads, including many I'd deem inappropriate for children to see - namely pages and pages of ads for adult chatlines. Does Retrogamer do this, too? Will be giving it a swerve if so.

In the early issues there were chatline ads at the back, but a HUGE number of complaints saw that come to an end.
Last issues I have (again, from 2012) didn't have dodgy-ads, but .. I don't think it was a Future mag, then, either.
Not sure when that happened..

Wiki say..
Live Publishing (2004–2005)
Imagine Publishing (2005–2016)
Future Publishing (2016–present)
