Socoder -> Monkey -> My attempt at making a Centipede clone.

When is a centipede not a centipede?... When it's being a complete and utter donkey, that's what.

I've been coding this, between procrastinations and attention-span issues, and it's got more glitches than a first-person shooter. And yes, I know!, the graffix are crap.

Well.. It's a good start...
Also, I like the 4-directional movement. I usually keep the player facing upwards, but your way means that you can open things up, and have centipedes popping up from all over the map.. Would allow for MUCH trickier gameplay.

Keep at it!

If I manage to crack it then it will have more pedes on screen as the levels progress, it will also have powerups. I was also thinking of using scrolling to make the game bigger and more explorery like, hence the four-directional player control.

That's certainly got the feel - now if only more centipedes arrived once you killed the first one...

Yeah, but probably not as frantic as I've made mine, though!, (You can play mine on Tuesday)

The pedes are class based, so I can put as many onscreen as I want at will.

I just found out why I find this a bit challenging... The person behind the original Atari version was a woman, one of the very beings that have been troubling me most of my life. LMAO!

|edit| I can also make those pedes of any length |edit|

Only kidding Jay!, I had to blame someone though.

|edit| I also used to blame Lee's mother whenever I dropped my guts in a shop. First rule: never admit liability. |edit|

Kuron Back in the day, programming WAS a woman's job

I think I remember seeing a documentary a long while back that varified that.

That's it, Dona Bailey is off the hook. I'm now blaming my friend's German Shepherd dog for my crap coding now, she shoved her nose straight in my face earlier and nearly blinded me with it so I now temporarily only have one good eye.

You can code with one eye! I expect this game to be finished by Xmas

I guess I'll just have to steer clear of dogs noses.
