@Jay Wow, bit heartless... And fancying them whining how she put it on Facebook, never mind that, the pillocks, there is people who indeed need help, and they should've appreciated that and tried to get that clause waivered in this circumstance, they should be helping the people who are prepared to help if it means infringing on a contract, rather then sending shitty letters! Good luck to her, she seems like a real good egg, and the world needs more people like her, so hope it all gets ironed out!

My corner of the world is okay, waiting on some French doors... Ordered them online the other weekend, then received a phone call from one of their sales people, basically, their lead in times on the website states 3-4 weeks, and unfortunately, due to being based in Scotland, Covid restrictions still applied there and if you test positive, you had to self isolate... Not sure what its like now, but the company rang and said due to increase in Covid amongst their staff, it's knocked the manufacturing process of their products as people have had to stay off, and as such, the knock on effect is that if I wanted to continue with my order, I'll be looking at 7-8 weeks instead of what was advertised. And if I didnt want to go ahead, they would happily issue a refund. I appreciated the phone call, because lets face it, many companies would've just kept the dosh and when the 3-4 weeks past, I'd only be on the phone being fed absolute bullshite on why it was late, so I told him because they rang and explained, and it is literally what it is... It's fine, and to be fair, a perfect excuse for a little break... I've been knackered.

But, other then that, jobs a good'un really... I'm off to get my ears lowered, then, me and a few mates are heading down durham for a few beverages, bit of catch up over a Thai meal, probably a few more drinks then come back. Not getting ratted like, planning to take my drone up to Weardale tomorrow and give it a whirl out if the weather is fine, probably stop for a beer somewhere and have my lunch over there too.

Just planning a nice chilled out enjoy the sun type of weekend!

Considering everything that's been going on, pretty well, enjoying life, upgraded Tristons PC to a shiny RTX 3050, Minecraft looks amazing now!

Spent a lovely day with Layla on Saturday, I seem to be pretty much fully recovered from the Coof again so,living and loving the waifu laifu, possibly over invested in stocks last month, really got to stop doing that!

Work's all good, getting somewhere with the moving parts that are our Amazon integration.

Feeling like I've not spent enough time coding on the NES stuff still but progress is progress...12 months later mind. Ohhh and I managed to find a bargain upgrade for Kiko arriving this week, pics will appear on her Instagram assuming everything goes according to plan

I have been doing some rethinking the last couple of days. Robotization is getting more advanced every year. I wonder if I should diversify a bit with the skill learning. Code, art and gfx is going to be automated more and more.
Should I spend a couple of hundred hours a year learning pixelart, when in a couple of years the skills are no longer needed?
It is going bottom up the skill level with those computer algorithms.

I was made redundant just over a week ago (not a surprise, kind of saw the writing on the wall a year ago and were notified about five months back) and have a bit of time off before I start a new job next Monday. Both scary and exciting in equal measure, I was at my last job for fifteen years. Not that things didn't change a lot in that time but you get to know the culture. They seem very nice and friendly at the new place.

I've been doing some refresher training and applied some of it in a distraction -> hewco64.itch.io/powerball-m365-powerapp <- which I'd be suprised if anyone is able to run it here as you need M365 :-p ...but it made a change from the usual business applications and got me exploring how to make PowerApps do what PowerApps don't.

Aww, sorry to hear that. But congrats on getting a new job so quickly, especially given the current economical climate.
What is it you're doing?

I was surprised the job market is really good right now. I started as a .NET developer (classic ASP before that) at this last job and I ended up focusing on SharePoint applications and integration. These days I still am but its moved from server side to mostly client side and no/low-code type work.

Sounds like one of those "and then someone complained because something I didn't actually do any work on was broken, and I had to fix it" jobs.

Good luck!!

Oh, when I went down Durham for that meal, I forgot it was Grand National day, so, put myself a £2 each way bet on a gee gee... And it only went and WON!!! \o/

£124 return, one was chuffed to bits, a couple of other mates won as well, and as such, I spilled in at just past 3am Sunday morning! lol

And as Sunday went may I add... Complete and utter sore head washout! hehehe
