hyruleknight	that sucks, maybe it came with a floppy drive that you can switch out with the CD drive mine came with both a CD and a floppy drive. changing them out can be a pain so i just leave the floppy in since i don't use any CDs on my laptop much -=-=- i like green haired girls...

Yayyak	I solved that problem by getting all my old floppy disks and creating images of all of them, and then burning them to CD. Does anybody remember the ads for those Zip disks? "A whole room of paper... 72 floppy disks... or 1 Zip disk." Wow, there was something that didn't last. A bit like DVD-RAM, really.

Scherererer	the majority of new computer now a days don't have floppy drives.. I've taken to pulling them out of older computers and re-using them, and i've also got an external USB one. JL235	Well Instinct, that's not strictly true. I believe the Amiga's floppys were half the density of pc ones, and so there were some conflicts around that time. But I agree this trend of bad compatibility is far less with floppy disks. They were rather temperamental though. I'd keep one in my coat, getting it wet, banging it around for months and it'd still work perfectly. Yet other disks I had simply just left on the side for a while would break.

mike_g	My floppies for my amiga always seemed to break for more or less no reason. My laptops got a floppy drive but to be honest it dosent do much more than waste space as I never use it except in a couple of cases where I wanted to install some very old software. For everything else theres my pen drive.
