I know we're generally not supposed to put video links in here, let alone start political discussions, but I felt that this was a pretty important speech, particularly for americans. It is a speech about race in the United States, but it doesn't address it just like almost every other major black speech about race was where its just rantings about opression, it also addresses the white american perspective on the issue, with understanding of our angst over afirmative action and outsourcing. Of course, a good bit of the speech is in responce to the recent controvercy over the reverand making derogatory remarks about race, but he uses that as an example to the major issue in our modern america. I felt that i personally as a white american was able to agree with everything that was stated, and I don't post this link as a supporter of obama, or as a guy trying to get hits for a flamewar, but just because i felt that this speech is just that important. It is a bit long, but i think about 14 minutes in is when he gets into the real meat if you just want something quick.

jay: again i appoligize, i'll understand completely if you remove this/want it moved to the link section

Obama's an incredible public speaker, and one of the few candidates who addresses issues of importance other than the war.

Think carefully: when's the last time you heard George Bush give a speech that didn't include the words "war", "Iraq", and "terrorism"?

It's about time we quiet the crazies like Sharpton and James, and get real, pro-equality, driven individuals in charge.
