We can only wait but I probably won't watch it... The writers need to stop making moody snarky assholes. (Yes, there have been some like Q but he was clearly somebody you were not to like initially) They seem hell bent on uprooting what Starfleet was to teach the audience some "lesson" they don't care to hear. The usual tired trope keeps coming up:  Remember your heros and what they fought for?WELL, it turns out they were actually the bad guys! (We will tell this narrative through some generally unlikable characters and poor writing).  I feel the series lost its way after Voyager. |

Strange New Worlds has been ok. It's still a bit grumpy and "gritty" in places, but it's been much more like how I prefer my Trek to be. Prodigy was also wonderfully well done. I really do hope that continues, somehow. Discovery and most of Picard, too, were of the "Smallville" style of writing. That is to say, everyone has teenage angst no matter how old they are, and every episode plods slowly along until the last 2 minutes so that you're hooked for the next episode. I really hate that. Yea strange new worlds has been better Trek of late. Nothing beats Lower Decks for me, though I know it's not everyone's cup of tea, it does give you doses of Trek each episode and it's not too dissimilar to Adventure Time which I love.
