So we've got PC(s), Webhost(s) and now Desktop(s). So post your desktop. Take a screenshot (Print Screen Button) and post away.

Such a powerful PC and your not running Vista? What a shame.

Also my dad has a 42 inch High-Definition TV I use as a monitor. BattleField 2 can only be truly experienced when the world is life size and the explosions give you motion sickness.

This is pretty much what I see.. Notice the amount of garbage on the taskbar..
Even minimising Blitz leaves behind more blitz!

But, when I do occasionally find my way down to the ground floor, this is what I find.

A mess!

I got rid of desktop clutter by keeping all my program icons in a sidebar which auto-hides until I switch to desktop and push my pointer to the edge of the screen.
(sidebar = turning a folder into a toolbar and dragging it to the side of screen)

It's just too bad I can't get this to work on Vista.

I'm using this cool "vista"-style imitation skin (windowsblinds) and I much prefer it over the vista original. In the screenie, is it's compact version and the skin does transparency as well.

I have a folder-toolbar in Vista. A mate of mine discovered it in XP when he was trying to come up with reasons on XP being better. He sent me a pic, and I sent him it back but with the folder replaced by a Vista folder. Kinda funny at the time. Anywho:

@Diablos Devil
How'd you get that folder toolbar to show up?

I just did this yesterday...

Ubuntu!

My Windows XP is Vista-esque'd a little, with a top tool-bar that's full of programs and a virtual desktop switcher (Linux style) and also three expanding folder menus - the files from my Windows Desktop, my Linux Desktop, and my main Windows folder for files and local (unzipped) applications. Screenie soon...

My notebook's desktop. I'll take a cap of my regular PC's desktop next time I'm on it.

Yeh, spill the beans! Hmm have you tried docking the toolbar at the sides?
I'll probably give it another try later.

@instinct
What's with the oversized desktop icons?

You can't deny how awesome it is to have icons so large you can only fit 12 of them on the screen!

Booted into Windows briefly.

Interesting distortion on my start bar where GIMP must've choked when it saved the JPG image... I didn't put it there on purpose.

It ain't the prettiest, but I find it very efficient.

... and I don't often use it anyway.

What, like this?

You just drag the folder there.

I find you need to drag a folder to the top first, and then it's far easier to drag it onto the sides. But I like it at the top.

Firemaker, I use launchy too!

I'm using Launchmate. Means I can tweak the things available in the sidebar, and even flip between different sets of icons (the 3 at the top.)
